Today, we adopted Austin’s FY 2026-27 budget. In a difficult fiscal year, I’m proud we protected critical social services and resources that thousands of Austinites rely on. Our budget should reflect our values and ensure Austin shows up for those who need us most.

West Campus has changed dramatically over the years, but it remains home to thousands of UT students. As the neighborhood continues to evolve, it's important that students understand their rights as renters & stay informed about issues that affect housing, affordability, & safety

One of the best parts of this job is getting to spend time with Austin's youngest residents. Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff at Todos Juntos Learning Center for welcoming me for story time. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

If you're a student renter, this is worth knowing: Austin prohibits windowless bedrooms in West Campus housing. Watch for a quick breakdown of the policy and how it helps improve housing standards for students.

Parks play an important role in bringing neighbors together, supporting recreation, and creating a stronger sense of community. It was great to celebrate the future of Sir Swante Palm Park and the continued investment in public spaces that serve Austinites for generations to come.

Disappointed Waymo didn’t show up to yesterday’s Public Safety & Mobility meeting. People deserve transparency when it comes to safety on our streets. This isn’t partisan, it’s public safety. Reach out to your reps and to Waymo. Accountability only happens if we demand it.
