True, but this teacher liked to throw out that he qualified for food stamps and that the district was at fault for not paying enough. Because of that, I am willing to say there may be a few exceptions.

Its amazing how many men are saying, "it was a joke", "it was satire" etc. Satire is when you make fun of something to encourage change. Most jokes originate in emotional or physical pain. The most evident thing this ad says is that men are violent. They respond w/ violence & anger to any threat.

I was told, by a veteran, "those were threats, not actual attempts." He denied they even happened until I pulled up the details before his eyes, then he argued fake news, then I pulled up sources he couldn't discount. I was told I dont know things, "because you weren't in the military." *facepalm*

Having been a teacher for 25 years, there is definitely a lack of cultural value to education. I was always "too hard," "expected too much," instead of having parents encourage their students to work harder or put down the phone.

I was an English teacher, and I taught a lot of pieces about civil disobedience. Thoreau is "easy", but he doesnt show the force the govt/ruling party can press upon the disobedient. The repercussions for Thoreau makes one think that the government can recognize when it breaks its own rules.

While I love Thoreau, he is not the best instance of civil disobedience. His privilege let him spend one night in jail, while others (poc) suffered mightily for lesser crimes. He lived "in the woods to live deliberately" yet he ate once a week at E's house where Mrs. Emerson did his laundry.

I'm recovering from knee replacement (last Monday), and I know that we need to do the other knee. Will we be able to afford it? Much less how to handle my low vision. I taught for 23 years; you'd think I wouldn't be budgeting for my rxs every month, but here we are.

If you are single and working a full time job, you should make enough $ that you do not qualify for SNAP. The government is subsidizing companies to not pay their employees. Min wage should cover a single person's basic expenses.
