There is also click-bait news/media compounding the issue. Many (most) outlets apprar to do little to no investigation into wild claims. Instead, they pump out the story they're given, using the a baity headline to grt clicks & $$$

It's sold to kids as a non-issue by smartly dressed academic recruiters. It's sold to them in a classroom, where the school has built up trust over 5+ years. It's extremely cynical.

Data ownership should vest with the individual, not the NHS (who should be allowed to store and process data for the individual), and certainly not any 3rd party without a very high bar of protections fir the individual. Many in the NHS wrongly assume it is NHS data...it is not.

USB-C cables in general seem to have a life expectancy of well under a year.

Brilliant. Sounds a little like democracy.

Another 'son if a billionaire' proving the Hoffa adage is still true (if only needing a little update). Out of touch, born into the elite and with nothing useful to do.

Very sad to see. UK govt now nose cutting to appease a vocal minority. We should be encouraging talent inti the country.

I don't normally feel the need to comment on clothing choice, but she seems to be going for the Imperial Stormtrooper look. Does this job do that to you? Or does a certain personality gravitate that way?

Having been pro-assisted dying for a long time, i am now undecided. Canada has seen a gradual increase in scope and an acceleration of the request to completion of the process. This against a backdrop of health and social squeeze leaves me very concerned that this might be the thin end of a wedge.

Perhaps a system based on sortition (lottery). Make it a form of 'civil' service that everyone must do for a period of time. It could be anyone making the next decision. There are no party politics.

To be fair, this is playing out in exactly the way many were saying, and then being labelled 'far left' or having TDS. The plans were all laid out in Project 2025 documentation. His track record was there for all to see.

True, getting started can be very low cost, but at a certain point, the management fees mean you really need to switch to commission accounts. Exactly re cash. You need the flexibility to be out of the market. Even "safe" gilts sometimes take a battering (and not all brokers offer them)

Cash ISA's can't be worth much to IG (it's not their core busines). Shifting people en-masse to higher cost Stocks and Shares, charging fees for buying and selling shares and funds, bombarding with 'investment ideas'.l, must be worth a lot, lot more.
