This week I had the amazing opportunity to host a class of kindergartners from Bryant Elementary School. They have been studying about local government, and I was excited to have them tell me what they’ve learned.

Happy Pride Month!🌈 Today Council raised the pride flag at City Hall alongside community leaders, LGBTQ Commissioners, and other elected officials. This month we celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ residents of this Welcoming City which represent the beauty and heartbeat of belonging in Seattle.

I was honored to meet with members of the Seattle Women’s Commission on Denim Day. As we reach the end of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, I want to join women around the world who are wearing denim in protest to the misconceptions that continue to surround sexual violence.

I was honored to speak at the recent grand opening of the Wallingford Food Bank, which has been in the District for almost 30 years, providing services for folks in the D4 and beyond. The renovation of their space allows them to help even more people, at a time when more help is needed.

On Tuesday, I joined SPD Chief Barnes to announce some excellent public safety news! In response to my continued requests for attention to the public safety issues at, and around Magnuson Park, Chief Barnes has made permanent a pilot that increased police presence in the area.
