I've got a new artist lined up that looks promising, and work should begin soon on recreating the character art. I'm learning the new engine, rebuilding the UI, and am almost ready to begin rewriting the demo scenes.

I've always just wanted to tell stories, and I think this will be a way to wrangle the stray ideas that don't fit into a single story. I often come up with ideas that don't fit the story I'm telling at the time, and don't want to just let them fade, so I'm going to attempt to do it this way.

I'm aiming to build a universe that moves between games and books in the same city, telling different stories around the same timeline, and weaving easter eggs into each thing for those that venture into both mediums.

I finished the first draft recently, and will be moving to editing soon, but I took a break from that to start rebuilding the game from scratch. I'm moving to a new game engine, adding a fuck ton of new features, and most importantly: tying the game to my new novel series.

I hate social media, but since it's a necessary evil I suppose I should put some updates out into the void. PLACEHOLDER was on hiatus due to the artist being a waste of time and money. I nearly gave up on it, but instead I took a break, and wrote a new novel.

Working on a massive new feature, building out an inventory system from scratch. I'm hoping 30 slots will be enough... Items will show in slots based on variables, each slot has a bunch of code. Still working on info, and assignment logic when obtaining new items, but it's a start #gamedev #indiedev

Also I'm not really sure why all the 'interior' tilesets I have seem to be scaled bigger than the character models despite being marked as 48x48 It makes them look like children, which is not at all ideal.
