I’ll never forgive him for leading the destruction of my country, so I guess we’ll call it even.

Pure innumeracy. Sure, the arithmetic mean is high, but the high end outliers have *so much* wealth they skew the arithmetic mean up to the point where it is worthless as a metric. Either he’s too stupid to know it or he’s counting on us to be too stupid to know it.

As a bisexual in a heterosexual marriage I 100% agree. I try to be mindful that to someone who doesn’t know me well, I look like a straight male and that means I don’t experience a lot of the negatives that the queer community experiences.

This is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. Buying a good game is supposed to be the market signal that encourages the industry to create more good games. Not buying the game is the signal that bad corporate behavior yields lower sales. Sigh.

“Maybe if we throw the trans folks under the bus they won’t come for us next.” Yeah. That’ll work out great, just like all the times before.

Reminiscent of early Gatling guns. Everything old is new again at some point. And certainly not a good development for public safety. Very sad.

As the son of an FBI agent (who passed many years ago), what Patel and Trump have done to the Bureau has been immensely painful to watch. While it has a checkered history (to be kind), I knew many agents that embodied fidelity, bravery, and integrity. They’ve made a mockery of it.

And naturally he has the accounting audit trails to prove that assertion. What’s that you say? No? Color me shocked! And of course no mention of Trump lifting sanctions on Iranian oil so they can sell high to fund their defense… Idiots and hypocrites.

I’ve read Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune each several times. I always get stuck at God Emperor of Dune. Not sure why… Choosing a single most thought provoking element is challenging. It changes with every book and every reading.

TLDR; Trump isn’t a real fascist because he is too incompetent and uncoordinated in his approach to be considered a real fascist when compared to Hitler and Mussolini. Yay, pedantry.

Gerardus Mercator was Flemish. The map he developed was extremely helpful for sailors of all European nations since it represents courses of constant bearing as straight lines. I do agree that the fact that we still use it is ridiculous and plays to European and US biases.

Interesting. Help me understand how you would characterize someone who believes that racism is abhorrent and acknowledges that the history of the United States is rife with examples of it? Do you place yourself in the same category? I ask because I’m curious and want to learn more.

I suspect your liberal friends would acknowledge your point, as do I. I think it is more about the values they hold and believe the country should aspire to as well. The fact that there are those of us who do hold those values is a cause for some measure of hope.

It is called a Large Language Model for a reason. The focus is the ingestion of and generation of language content. The fact that it doesn’t do math well is as surprising as the fact that hammers aren’t good at driving screws. MS putting it into Excel is idiocy any way you slice it.

$85 million dollars to move a retired Space Shuttle to Texas. This is a completely unnecessary expense. This is pork, plain and simple, and demonstrates the lie that the current administration and Republicans in Congress are concerned about waste, fraud, and abuse.
