fe3h annette with ophelia costume swap commission

fire emblem three houses fanart: annette costume swap with ophelia (fire emblem). Annette's costume is girlier with ribbons, in white, orange, and teal and a touch of pink and ribbons. She's holding a grimoire up with one hand, while casting a spell with the other.

But up to where I am it’s pretty chill. Not amazing, but the moment to moment play is perfectly cromulent and has some fun bits. Even if the first place I sailed to knocking Cannock on his ass with a curse was rude as hell.

Yeah I probably won’t be able to put enough time into the game to get to… they renamed Rhône in the switch version, but anyway! Don’t think I’ll get there and finish the game until this weekend so I don’t know for sure yet but I gather it’s still a bastard even in the post NES versions

And that's DQ1, albeit DQII does have more plot and recruiting Cannock and Moonbrooke feels more structured. But by DQIII we see the modular structure that really defines the series, where each city is its own contained story, with a much smaller quest object hunt in the midgame.

010

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Thinking about this more. It definitely resembles a modern jRPG in ways DQ1 doesn't (it shows its Wizardry ancestry really strongly), but at the same time DQII is structurally more similar to DQ1 than to later DQ games? "Bounce around the map finding quest objects" is basically the primary gameplay

Been playing Dragon Quest II, up towards the end of the sigil hunt Honestly a nice zone out and grind game so far? partly this is because I'm playing the Switch version (which is the iOS version, which was mostly the SFC version) I'm sure... but also I think it means Rhone is *just that bad*

I mean look at that twink, you just know he wouldn’t make a zombie unless it was immune to decay. That said the more interesting angle would be like some kinda “the FX dimension collapsed after Nel and Rafal left and the disembodied spirits try to possess their counterparts”

ANyway, sorry for the downer thread. It just felt important to put this particular thought to paper, so to speak. Like, recording my own thoughts as they stand.

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

But I suppose very few games will ever let themselves be read as sapphic bonding overcoming god and putting the fate of humanity in their own hands. That's a pretty high bar to hold things to.

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#fefwspoilers So in that light, hearing so reliably that FW is a game with much less queer romance, and much more emphasis on reproductive sex, is definitely confirmation of some of my pessimism. Not the worst of it, I think there's a good game there under all that, but... it's disheartening.

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#fefwspoilers Even outside CF, so much of 3H is about the interplay between religion and patriarchy, and the way the two reinforce one another to hold society in stasis. And every route is about breaking that system, one way or another.

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#fefwspoilers But FW helped me kinda sum up something about 3H in compact way: I dunno that they set out to make a feminist game in 3H, but it's an incredibly powerful work in both story and theme viewed through a feminist lens

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#fefwspoilers So based on this second hand impression, I don't think FW really... *gets* what 3H was doing. Like, not lore stuff. Everything I've heard about THAT seems interesting, even if they mighta wrote themselves into a corner vis a vis Sothis if they make more Fodlan games

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#fefwspoilers This isn't really specific spoilers, since I haven't played the game yet. I've been keeping up with everyone else's spoilers though because I just don't mind spoilers myself, and having a basic idea of the shape of the game is nice after strongly disliking the pre-launch campaign

IntSys never rendered Maya Kirsten in art or gameplay because they knew the world was not ready for a 7 foot tall woman who can crush boulders with her fists and heads with her tits

120

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I’ve been chipping at the FFL games on the collection for a couple years so I’d definitely be playing the OG anyways. I honestly think I’ll overall like the original more anyway, GB games are super charming in their simplicity

MEANWHILE Bernie? She’s terrified but also completely capable of seizing what she wants when given love and support to actually vocalize her desires She ABSOLUTELY can be in a dom position if she’s in a relationship

010

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

And like, that’s what makes Hubert so interesting in the first place? He delights in being sinister and intimidating BUT ALSO… he’s genuinely here to serve. He tailors his approach to the person, and has no designs on any throne despite being styled as an evil vizier

100

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Like who would even write dom Hubert? It’s completely out of character, and it’s not really much fun to write characters in smut when they’re just some generic sex robot wearing the character’s skin

110

Elly, Amateur Yurimancer @cmdrking.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I think this sorta thing depends on the outcome honestly. Like IF she has supports or paired ending with women that are romantic in nature, then yeah it’s just a pragmatic side of her character If she doesn’t then… yeah they wrote a straight woman who they didn’t admit was straight right away
