It appears that some folks on this lovely internet are unaware that The Odyssey is a work of fiction.

It’s May of 2026. People are still obsessing over and complaining about Disney+ runtimes.

010

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 06/05/2026

So the big deal on film internet was the use of American accents in The Odyssey. Would you rather they spoke Greek? The other big deal was Tom Holland’s character using the word “dad” instead of “father”. I’ve encountered 40 year olds who call their father “my daddy”, so what are we upset about

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 05/05/2026

Thing I did not have on my bingo card today: People arguing over the new trailer for The Odyssey and whether or not that movie is going to be good.

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 04/05/2026

On this Star Wars day, I have two wishes, which mostly likely won’t come true 1) No more fighting over Star Wars online. Spirited debate is cool, being assholes to each other is not. 2) For the rest of the Disney+ shows to get 4K blu-ray releases.

Checked out the first episode of Widow’s Bay on Apple TV, and that show may not be for everyone, but I think it’s very much for me.

The IMAX folks were like, “Chris, you pushed it with that Oppy runtime, the platters can only hold so much film”

There is one shot of Matt Murdock towards the end of this week’s Daredevil episode where I ascended. Beautifully shot episode 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Easily The Rise of Skywalker. Every single time, I hope I’ll find something more, and I never do.

@jamesgunn.bsky.social not sure if you check this app anymore, but I’m curious: Supergirl, Clayface, and Lanterns all look like they’re framed at 2.35:1, yet Superman is at 1.90:1. Will Man of Tomorrow be in the taller ratio, and what’s your thought process about how to decide which ratio to use?

000

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

Clayface teaser was awesome. I genuinely think comic book movies can move past every single one being a big blockbuster, and hopefully this is the start of that.

Hey @rianjohnson.bsky.social , with the recent announcement of Stranger Things 4K via @arrowvideo.bsky.social and Del toro’s Frankenstein via @criterion.bsky.social, any chance Glass Onion and WUDM will be getting physical releases? Would love to watch Yedlin’s work without streaming compression!

Very excited seeing all the positive buzz about Maul: Shadow Lord. Cant wait to check it out with the rest of us normies on Monday!

Keep seeing folks upset that Greig Fraser's next project is the Beatles movies and not Dune or Batman. However, this allows for DPs like Linus Sandgren and Eric Messerschmidt to shine on those projects instead. Fraser is a standout talent, but he ain't the only guy who knows how to work a camera.

Season two of Daredevil: Born Again absolutely rules so far.

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Understanding that it’s not cool to like Star Wars at the moment, but Maul: Shadow Lord has me pretty pumped. I’ve always loved the animated shows, Sam Witwer is back, and the Kiners did the music. And it could end up being a sneaky Darth Talon story? Come on now.

With the announcement of Stranger Things getting a full 4K Blu-Ray set from Arrow Video, I now have hope that they'll partner up for a bunch of other Netflix things that are deserving of physical releases.

Dune Part Three is gonna be my favorite movie of the year. Lord almighty that trailed whipped an insane amount of ass.

No matter who wins the awards, the real winner of the Oscars this year is us. Some seriously great movies in 2025!

Haters when Superman features a very colorful Green Lantern: This sucks! Make it more grounded! Too goofy! The same haters when Lanterns has a more grounded pair of Green Lanterns: No, not like that! Make it more comic book!

Anyone have the email for the new CEO at Disney? I have a very important question to ask them about the release date of the Andor Season 2 4K Blu-ray Disc. Mostly when the hell is it happening.

Cory Disbrow @cmdisbrow.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

Lots of folks asking how Dune 3 has the IMAX exclusivity for a few weeks over Avengers Doomsday, when it is quite simple. Doomsday was supposed to release in May. Dune had the date and the exclusivity before Doomsday shifted to December. That’s it, folks!

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a nice surprise for me. Glad I didn’t skip it based on prior Game of Thrones stuff.

Had my projector professionally calibrated last week, and the results are unreal. Watched all three LOTR extended editions this weekend and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them like that before.

Imagine having zero faith or confidence in a movie and still spending $7m on a 30 second commercial spot on it.

My one hope for tHe bIg gAmE tonight is that the Mandalorian and Grogu trailer does something, anything to make me care about that movie.

Not sure if @jamesgunn.bsky.social is a Green Day guy, but a Peacemaker action sequence set to Green Day's track 'Peacemaker' would be pretty gnarly.

Honestly, all I need from Star Wars at this point is a 4K blu-ray of Season 2 of Andor, and then they can go make whatever nonsense they want. Let me hold that season in my hands, and we're good.

Seen lots of folks upset online about the IMAX scenes from Tron: Ares being exclusive to Disney+. That movie was clearly framed for 2.39:1 and there is a metric ton of dead space in the IMAX footage. 🤷🏻‍♂️
