📣🪨 New paper in JGR: Earth Surface! 🪨📣 Our lab showed bedrock erodes more efficiently under higher-energy sediment impacts. I built this into the saltation-abrasion model & found that it amplifies the influence of coarse grains & shifts more erosion towards rarer, larger floods. shorturl.at/2SK5o

Out now in Geology! Flume experiments led by PhD student Robert Kostynick reveal that riverbeds strengthen faster in between floods at steeper slopes. We found that this behavior is *highly* predictable with slope, with implications for mountain river resilience and recovery. shorturl.at/OFfmA

New preprint out! We tracked the trajectory of channel adjustment along the SF Eel River - showing that sediment mobility increases drastically downstream. By decomposing modes of channel adjustment, we highlight the critical role of channel width in regulating shear stress. shorturl.at/D99zw
