Thursday 8th October Another calm, cold & clear morning and i was hoping for some Pink-footed Geese & or Redwing. Not a sniff of either but i did point my camera at a couple of commoner #birds on my walk back from Clydebank.

Tuesday 6th October First finds from my early morning walk were these vacated Stigmella sp leafmines on Rose. Found them along the Clyde Expressway, Whiteinch. I've yet to find any tenanted ones. Maybe next year 🤞 #teammoth

Indeed. The one i found earlier in the year was collected to rear and it cocooned after a couple of days. Can't wait to see the adult next year!

Sunday 4th October My 2nd Birch Sawfly 'Cimbex femoratus' larva of the year and the first one i've seen in Lanarkshire. I found it on the underside of a Birch leaf on Lochburn Rd, Hillend. #sawflies #invertebrates
