Poor Kabbu fell down while I was at work. 😭 Why do plush toys always look so sad when they're lying on their side.
Two small shelves with Makeship plushes for Vi, Leif, Mothiva, Zasp, and Chompy from Bug Fables on them. Kabbu is suspiciously absent....because he fell down behind the computer monitor and is now covered in dust.

I love learning new editing software. Every time I'm poking around like "where's the crop tool" I end up finding a tool that's way more niche first and I can send the saxophone section to hyperspace.

4 out of 5 starter Pokémon that I've been given have been female. I even tried resetting so one of them WOULDN'T be female, but either it had already saved, or I got a girl twice in a row. If my math is right, having all four be female is approximately a 0.0244% chance. And yet here we are.

Heard an insane Pokémon take at Gamestop today. A customer was claiming that there's no tiger Pokémon, and the cashier was saying Incineroar is a tiger. I added that he's based on Tiger Mask the wrestler. The customer said "Yeah, he's based on a wrestler, not a tiger." Like... is he not both???

The "intermission" tracks are also fun, dangit. I love a healthy dose of nonsense on the road in my Mario Kart games, and crashing headlong into an 18-wheeler as I attempt to zip past my friend is peak Mario Kart. Video mostly unrelated, but check out this silly animation. (2/4)

The feelings of love and hope that this game invokes is unmatched. It's inspiring, heartbreaking, devastating, hilarious, and genuine. Even as a fraction of a larger story, it's one of the best things that I've played this year. (6/6)

That said, this chapter's Dark World is probably the best the game has been up to this point. It's gorgeous to look at, the designs are absolutely inspired, and the music takes my fucking breath away. Dark Sanctuary and its variations continue to haunt my every waking moment. (5/6)

Chapter 4 was a non-stop barrage of emotions for me. From the music to the spritework to the jokes to the character moments to the MUSIC. OH MY GOD THE MUSIC. The Light World section is a glimpse into normalcy for Kris and Susie, and it means so much to me. (4/6)

Chapter 3 is less focused than previous chapters. It has a lot of minigames, and the gameshow's structure makes backtracking harder. I had to replay a significant portion once or twice because I missed something. That said, the novelty of the presentation works for me, and I really enjoyed it. (2/6)

16. Deltarune Chapters 3+4 (2025) One of the reasons I put off updating this thread is because I can't put into words what Deltarune means to me. It's such a touching story that manages to wrap itself in such a wonderful sense of humor and I can feel the heart put into every aspect. (1/6)

Parents were cleaning up the storage room, and I was reminded of one of my favorite weird recycled boxes. Between an alligator-skin bag of accordion music and a Walmart box is a box of BIONICLES that should have been refrigerated at 34° (use by 03/13/15).
A cardboard box, originally used for a delivery of vegetables, now has "Bionicles" written on the side.

Despite all this, I keep coming back because the core gameplay is so satisfying. IOI cares enough about the game that they added a roguelike mode two years after release, and they're currently working on a whole-ass co-op mode. I'm sure I'll be returning for my next mission soon. (6/6)

For positives, I love the story. I think it's a phenomenal conclusion to the trilogy that wraps up loose ends while being in line with the series' tone. I love how 47 and Diana's unique relationship drives the story, not to mention the presentation is vastly improved over 2's static cutscenes. (2/6)

15. Hitman III (2021) I adore the World of Assassination trilogy, and Hitman III introduces so many quality of life features to the previous two entries that it retroactively makes them even better. It's a great way to wrap up the trilogy, but it does have a few problems I can't ignore. (1/6)

- put on longplay of the game as background noise - scroll down to comments, read a comment with a familiar line - search where I've heard it before, first likely candidate is Doctor Strange - remember how good the scene is - write a bunch about how good the scene is 3/4
YouTube comment by @asdrubalvect6328:
SA: "But Agent, without power you'll fall to your death!"
Agent: "Yes, but everyone else will live."Scene from Doctor Strange (2016) where Strange confronts Dormammu.
"Then you will spend eternity dying."
"Yes. But everyone on Earth will live."Discord screenshot where I'm yapping about Doctor Strange:

Some Marvel movies get a lot of flack for not allowing something to be really genuine, but I think this moment is a great balance of the two. The "I've come to bargain" line is a dramatic opening line for our hero to say, which evolves into something almost humorous by the end of the scene as he has to repeat himself over and over again. Yeah, he's getting bodied every time, but the fact that he's selfless enough to let that happen is exactly why the scene is so good.
Strange's whole arc starts with him being a selfish and conceited asshole who thinks he's the best there is. But now here he is, not just fighting and suffering, but actually dying over and over again, for the sake of countless others.
And the lines after are just as good:
"But you will suffer."
"...Pain's an old friend."
Which is something he became painfully (heh) aware of - his selfish behavior and lifestyle led directly to his accident which cost him his livelihood and led to his chronic pain that led him on his journey.Disgrunty:
really good analysis I love it
but also I'm watching the clip and I really like "What is this illusion?"
"Naw it's real"
"Good." (stabs him to death)

Clueless:
Anyway it's just good screenwriting.
EXACTLY
LIKE
IT'S REALLY FUNNY
BUT ALSO A REALLY GOOD CHARACTER ARC
And just a baller standoff with a villain where Strange basically doesn't even have to lift a finger to stop Dormammu at this point, because his presence there is enough to trap him.
But his presence there is also proof that he's grown as a person and reached the conclusion that he's now helping others for the sake of helping them rather than the personal glory that he used to fight for.
Basically, it's the character arc that Tony Stark went through in Iron Man way back in 2008, but refined to near perfection.
Anyway Marvel movies are good, actually.

Something I didn't appreciate until wrapping up the series is how fun of a villain V.V. Argost is. He can be properly scary, but he's wonderfully cheesy. He's also voiced by Corey Burton (Count Dooku and Cad Bane from SW: Clone Wars, Ansem from Kingdom Hearts), and now I can't unhear that. (7/7)

Rather than just Bigfoot, they have the Hibagon and the Honey Island Swamp Monster. Their interpretation of the Owlman as a black silhouette is SO COOL. That said, there are some pretty big blind spots in terms of cryptids. I just wanted to see the Flatwoods monster is what I'm saying. (6/7)

I love how Fiskerton is always treated like a real member of the family. I like to pretend that I'm immune to marketable mascot-like characters in cartoons or games, but Fiskerton is one of the best. He's also voiced by Batman from The Brave and the Bold, which is hilarious to me. (3/7)

The Saturdays have a great dynamic that shows depth to their characters, and their conflicts are more believable than other kids' shows. I was especially a fan of how Doyle ducked in and out of the ensemble before Doc swallows his pride to ask him to join permanently. (2/7)

14. The Secret Saturdays, Season 1+2 (2008 cartoon) If you liked Ben 10 growing up and you haven't watched this show yet, then you're missing out. Cryptid hunting around the world makes for a great action cartoon premise, but the core cast of characters is my favorite thing about the show. (1/7)

Pound for pound, this game has one of the BEST and most varied soundtracks in the entire series. The globe-trotting adventure is a phenomenal theme and the soundtrack takes full advantage of it. But nothing compares to the title theme, Endless Possibility. It's just the perfect Sonic song. (3/4)

Arguably just as frustrating is the need to collect medals to unlock stages, which grinds the game's pace to a halt. Despite this, the game's highs are some of the highest in the franchise. No other entry in the series before or since gives me an adrenaline rush like the Daytime stages. (2/4)
