It is my 5-year heartiversary! ❤️‍🩹 Nearly taken out by a severe spiral SCAD episode; told I would not survive. Amazed everyone by making it and given the nickname "Miracle" by hospital staff. Now almost 100 pounds lighter and still fighting. Never give up. What you truly believe is what will be.

I talk to Ukrainian soldiers frequently. They appreciate the breaks when they can get them. They also party, and enjoy life...yes, in the middle of a war zone. The video is them at Christmas. Taking a break. Because you can't just be angry all the time. In between the tragedies, there is life.

I am a proud, terrified mother. Here's to a world that never knows war 🍻🥂🫂

My daughter has been on the Ukrainian front line for more than a year.
Today, she is on leave for 10 days and is home in Canada.
Let me tell you what breaks my heart…
• Every time she hears an airplane, she ducks.
• Every time she hears a large, noisy truck, she ducks.
• Every time a flock of birds is startled, she ducks.
What's worse is that I can’t help her. She needs to have those instincts to help her survive when she returns.
I don’t know when—or if—I will see her again, but I know the damage will be even more severe. I just hope it isn’t beyond help.
Ukrainians live this every day. It is inhumane.
They deserve to live peacefully, and I deserve to have my daughter back, whole and well. I don’t care how selfish that sounds.
