I can’t help but think about Henry Fox on holiday with his husband, hair a little longer than it’s ever been, scribbling poems by the sea, admiring the way the sun caresses his husband’s face (and writing poems about that, too)

I got so caught up in all the other stuff I’m only just considering the possibility for this but make it firstprince

Screencap of Joan Watson and Sherlock Holmes from ‘Elementary’. Joan is looking at a bee hive. To Sherlock, says “You named a bee after me.”

I think any trad pub marketing team would BEG to use his name but maybe he’d try and do the whole process pseudonymous. I might be totally misremembering (or maybe this is fanon), but is it implied in canon he gets his book deal to write about queer historical figures post-email leak?

meg 🌿 @clrmntdzfx.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Exactlyyy like of course canon!Henry is gonna take it seriously and do the best he can and pour love and passion into it!! But he didn’t get it on merit bc that’s how the industry works 🙃

The beef I have with Richard Osman after he said authors don’t need to do social media promo to be successful they just have to do a few in person book signings…mate maybe YOU didn’t need it because you had your years-long tv presenter career boosting sales (yes I know it was ragebait)

oppressed or anything, I just find it irritating in the same way that I find several of the throwaway decisions that accidentally say more about the characters than is intended irritating?

this rich guy who happens to have a personal interest (and look, I LOVE Henry, but he is just a guy) parachutes in with his book deal to go on multiple extended overseas research trips that would not be available to actual experts in this space. TO BE CLEAR I’m not saying academics are —

get nowhere near that level of support. Added to that the state of higher ed in the UK means loads of programmes are being cut, especially in the humanities/social sciences, and academics who are actually experts in queer stuff have minimal institutional support, funding, job security etc. Then —

Ok speaking my truth: I’ve never been a huge fan of the ‘Henry gets a book deal’ thing, not bc I hate the idea of author Henry but bc I hate when celebs get book deals and the whole publishing machine gets behind them to make them a success when so many authors, esp marginalised authors —
