Curly-haired actor George Wendt as "Norm" in TV comedy "Cheers." He wears a tan suit with a white shirt and brown tie, and a black watchband on his left wrist. He leans on the bar with a full beer in a mug on a white napkin in front of him. He looks slightly skeptical at someone on his left.

It was Pi day, so you know:
One uncut apple pie with golden brown crust pierced in a pattern of radiating lines and browned syrupy filling peeping through the holes and around the lower right part of the rim. The pie is in a yellow ceramic pie plate on a cutting board, sitting on a light and medium brown woven bamboo place mat with a gray cloth binding.

Weather forecasters may be in grave jeopardy in PA. If this isn't fortune telling, what is?
Black and white Winter country scene. Caption on the right reads "Here are the changes for a white Christmas in south-central Pennsylvania"

Clean air, clean water & health campaigns FTW. I cut my foot but got antibiotics & didn't die like my great-great-grandpa-in-law did. I didn't die as a child of smallpox or polio like some of my parents' classmates did pre-vax, nor of cholera, dysentery or typhoid from dirty water like these kids:
1 large and 4 small gravestones stand between a small footpath and a dense stand of trees with fern undergrowth in an abandoned cemetery. Leetonia, PA (ghost town and former lumbering camp 1880s-1920s) photo 2006

Something bright to go with your coffee
Two bright red amaryllis blooms on a tall green stem with green leaves. One faces front; the second is in profile. In the background a window framed by orange/brown sill and kitchen items: dishcloth, soap dispense, pitcher, coffeemaker, thermometer

Title "The Small Black Hand of Fascism" At left, a skeletal black-gloved hand floats. Center: D J Trump's left-silhouetted head on a white collar & blue tie pedestal. Full photo: Trump's black suit merges into night-black background. Screenshot from Reuters photo; Crediting photo source with a QT
D. J. Trump in a left-facing silhouette against a black background, wearing a black suit, white-collared shirt and blue tie. Only the collar and tie, Trump's head, and the upraised black-gloved hand on the left (in front from Trump's perspective) are visible. The gloved hand is facing the camera and uplifted at a 45 degree angle so that it seems to float in front of him. The glove reflects narrow lines of light on the four fingers and thumb, giving it a skeletal appearance. Screenshot from a photo taken on Feb 19, 2025 and credited to Reuters. The photo accompanied an article in The Hindu on Feb 20, 2025. In the full photo Trump's black suit merges into the night-black background, creating the floating images described.
