An update from my sister 💜

Thank you all so much for donating so far, your donations have meant we will not loose our home this month ❤️ unfortunately I am having to go through ACAS to resolve my work dispute and it will be a long time before I can get any meaningful updates on it. We have applied for universal credit and I have job applications on the go but still no luck with securing work. On the bright side my recovery from surgery has gone really well. Unfortunately we are having to go private for a second opinion as we feel the NHS ignored key information that would help make a diagnosis. We are hoping just a consultation will be enough for a diagnosis which will be £300 max.

I just want to thank everyone again for their donations big and small. We have been able to buy groceries and again, not loose out home. Next month we should hopefully be getting extra support from UC but still no idea how much, we expect not much as my husband is in work, so we still really need anything we can get until I can secure a job. Thank you all so much ❤️

I use my iPad for a lot of my art. The one I currently have is 8 years old and while it still just about does the job it has barely any storage left and there are things I'd like to do and make that I can't do without getting a better iPad. I'd like to get an iPad Air 3 from CEX; the one I'm looking at is B grade but has x4 the storage space of my current one! It also has a bigger screen and weighs a little less.

So. Turns out my sister's job did their best to make it practically impossible to pursue them for wrongful discrimination so there's nothing she can do except accept their settlement terms. We'll see about doing a proper update in the next week or so, but in the meantime please share.

This was so so much fun to make and I can't wait to get started on a useable one!! (The St Christopher charm that I found didn't print well at the scale I needed it to so I designed a simple 'Grace Rocky save stars' charm instead. The fox file was made by Duo3Dprint on Makerworld.) 6/5

to make sure that I can print the handle in TPU rather than PLA, and to make space in the feet to insert proper rubber cane feet! When I make that one I'll be buying the appropriate colours of filament so I don't have to hand paint it all or worry about the paint scratching off. 5/6

I'm still learning how to 3D model so it took me about two days to model it and a day to print all the parts. The painting took about 5.5hrs; 2hr for each of the patterned bits and the rest of the time was spent layering the paint for the solid colour bits and painting the charms for the handle. 3/6

My sister Sammy is currently unwell and waiting for surgery, but the statutory sick pay she'll get while she's off work won't be enough to pay bills (especially seeing as her husband will have to take time off too to look after her), she's probably not going to be able to go back to work until the end of September at the earliest. We're gonna be setting up a GFM or something similar when we can, but in the mean time any purchases from or donations to my ko-fi will be going to her!
