That weirdo fucked me up immensely. I was aware that he was cheating the whole time and accepted it because he broke my self-esteem down, but finding out he was grooming the girl that “was like his little sister” made me lose my mind due to my own experience being groomed. Thank you. The concept of keeping trophies/souvenirs is well-documented and it has happened to people I know that were abused but it’s so surreal to piece together that I experienced it too. It felt taunting and antagonistic at the time. Now it just feels slimy.
