3/3 for the future bit, if you data is well defined and you know how much you are writing to the buffer, it can grow naturally, but if you are unsure, you can always pre-define buffers for each system with enough room for feature changes. Hope it helps.

2/3 The most important part is to make sure the data is well defined and not mixed with your model. So you can do like: “For each encounter write its state” Make sure to add a tag or magical number if using a byte array of some sorts. To check for errors.

Not sure if there is a standard way but I think you can, more or less: 1/3 Make an api that all systems that need to save implement. The api has some sort of object or byte array, that every system can write to.

This may be obvious, but removing notifications all together except authentication apps, from the phone and from the watch help a lot I think. Maybe you create and schedule quiet time throughout the day. Also, if something is really important, and someone needs to talk to you, they will call.
