the experiment was to make a person have the teleportation and phasing abilities of other creatures like displacer beasts and blink dogs and it worked! however the side effects were undetectable until long after testing had started with her body "spaghettifying" into the 9-10ft form she is now.

"Blink" is someone who got into the hands of the Biomancers that had made Halydove from before, though in her case rather than been kidnapped or something, she had actually volunteered her body to the group, and for what it mattered, the experiment she was involved in was a success, well at first-

these other Kavus have such forms like the Slime Queen Kavu; after being injected with slime DNA, this Kavu has become nearly 9ft tall, gooey hair and... basically perpetually pregnant with slimes (which are used for various day-to-day products like from make up to glue to medication bases)

issue with that, is not only the obvious effect to one's mental health (namely increased apathy and general anti-socialism), but also filling the lab with all kinds of Kavus that have become "no longer fit for regular work", usually thanks to mutations, not dead, but no longer can be a test standard

Doctor Alexia Kavu, despite holding multiple PHDs, she is perhaps one of the most disposable humans in the world, all thanks to DHR (Dangerous, Hazardous Research) Labs' cloning machine, allowing one of their top scientists basically no longer fear death

in hopes that one day she can open her own tavern to let people taste things from all kinds of cultures and even make her own experimental drinks to blow the hats off of people!

Though also being able to make more helpful potions like healing salves and so on, it does make her pension for making things going boom, thankfully. But now, after the passing of her creator, she has started an adventure across the world find and try all kinds of exotic drinks that others offer--

Milk Tea, a slime made by accident by an experimental brewer and tavern owner, and though she spent many years with her creator and learnt the craft of not only brewing but also alchemy! showing her, totally not concerning, talent for making explosives--

And though she is shy, awkward, embarrassed and bullied, she is nothing but determined to learn magic, even to where she has adorned her hat with pins, embroidery, trinkets and dyed her hair in the attempts to make herself more magically inclined and hopefully, one day, cast a spell.

Elxidor's School for the Gift, located in the floating islands of Stratovani skypelago, she struggles to perform spells, sometimes even understanding the wizardry "gibberish" has proven difficult for her.

Button was awestruck when she first saw magic, thought it was the greatest thing in the whole wide world and wanted nothing more to learn how to do it herself. However, even though she was able to find her way and enroll herself in one of the most prestigious magic schools of Paivoria--

and though she was able to escape before she lost everything, she still had lost a lot, but, as if the powers above gave her pity, her sorcerous blood mixing with dragon's, she had gained the power to summon aspects of dragons. so though she maybe armless, she is most certainly not harmless-

Halydove is an unfortunate victim of corrupt Biomancers taking advantage of a desperate family looking for a way to cure what is an incurable illness, they used her to experiment with flesh grafting, taking parts of her away and replacing them with that of dragons and wyverns-
