OH RIGHT, I remember reading on Wikipedia years ago they were based on a book series. Something to look into when I eventually become a parent.

I just googled, supposedly the main reason we didn't get Rescuers 3 was the passing of Gina Gabor. I kinda don't want Disney to touch the IP again, I imagine their immediate plan would be a CGI remake.

I know most of you guys don't go on the other app but the pope posted an anti AI/ pro artists statement yesterday, and the ensuing cope and memes is really funny

Pope Leo XIV
@Pontifex

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

2016: I will never fight a holy war

2019: Pope Leo I am ready launch me towards the nearest data center

some AI guy saying he makes christian children's books with AI asking the pope if that is ok then and someone posting a meme react with the pope holding a baseball bat saying 'did I stutter'

Agreed, but supposedly AI usage is becoming widespread in the industry to hopefully improve development time. If Capcom is doing it, but not for generating assets, that's something. Frankly we need AI companies to stop subsidizing the cost to truly make people stop using this garbage.

ClockworkCloak @clockworkcloak.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Well, the article says they are looking to use it for development, not generating assets. Still not ideal.

Oh they aren't bad, it's only annoying when a game overly spams them (Megaman Battle Network has a few titles that turned the enemy spawn rate up WAAAY too high).
