Delighted to travel to Woolwich today to take part in the @coopcouncils.bsky.social AGM & Conference. It's essential that Cllrs from all over the country contribute to the direction of travel & I'm honoured to represent District Councils (& opposition groups) UK wide on the Exec Board.

Was delighted to represent the Cooperative Councils Innovation Network at @casecooperative.bsky.social this afternoon. Was great to meet old and new friends alike, and catch-up with @rosemarley.bsky.social before our AGM in February.

It's terrible that the operator's of Walley's Quarry continue to pollute Silverdale, Keele and the surrounding areas. Please find below my submission to the Planning Inspectorate regarding the Closure Notice Appeal.

So Kidsgrove Tory's deselect a sitting Cllr and install a chap with little to no history in Kidsgrove. Thankfully Labour’s candidates have proven records across the Parish, and I'm very much looking forward to May and two Labour Gains in the County Elections 🌹

Thank you to the local residents who contacted me this week re: the former London Hoist site. I've visited a couple of residents this afternoon, taken pictures, and will follow up with Local Authorities in the morning.

On 28 November 2024 the Environment Agency issued a Closure Notice to Walleys Quarry Limited (WQL), they concluded that management of Walleys Quarry is poor & that further operation of the site may result in significant long-term pollution. (1 of 2)

I am so, so happy to read this, it's a testament to the local community, with support from local MP Adam Jogee and Newcastle Council, that we can start to look to the future. There is still much to be done, but Adam & Labour Local Cllrs will continue to ensure the capping & measures are completed.

Newcastle Borough Council is planning the council’s 2025/26 budget and wants to hear from residents. ❓ Which services are most important to you? Should they focus on protecting services, or keeping council tax to a minimum? Should they increase income? Have your say ➡️ tinyurl.com/ybks6y7j

Will it's ten hours since that equaliser, and I'm still grumpy about it! 😂 I'd have settled for a draw on 50th minutes but gutted to concede in injury time. Fabulous advert for League 2 football ⚽️ #UTV #VTID

Labour is working hard to deliver the change Newcastle needs. We inherited a country broke and broken, but we are getting back on track. Just this week we have seen major reforms to policing and children’s social care and new investment for local bus routes - change has begun

Just a quick update on the Councillor Briefing last night at Newcastle Borough Council surrounding Walley's Quarry. Whilst the contents of the meeting are embargoed, I can assure residents that the Council is moving heaven and earth to ensure the operator meets the demands placed on them.

Do you recognise this man? Staffs Police would like to speak to him after property was stolen from inside a parked car in Kidsgrove. At 1.10pm on Monday 10 September, a man opened the passenger-side door of the Ford Mondeo on Church Street and took a mobile phone, a bank card and a driving licence.
