It is NOT good enough to have pedestrians, kids, cyclists, parents with prams, risking their lives to shop around. This is not attractive or helpful for local shops, cafes and industrial facilities. Cornwall Council needs to grow a backbone to apply it's own policies.

Nowodhow splann! The Penryn Town Council decided to look into a community-lead project to weed out and plant instead of spraying glyphosate across the whole town like in past years. This means we will not spray pesticides on residents doorstep and near schools. A big win to achieve a safer Penryn.

Many vulnerable households and care homes lost power during the storm & institutions worked with the community to support them. I also would like to extend my deep gratitude to utility workers, Cormac staff, tree surgeons and farmers who all worked v hard to clear the roads in difficult conditions.

After three days without power and one without water, my thoughts are going to the families that are still in the cold. We've seen heartwarming displays of solidarity in #Penryn where people have shared homes, lent supplies and taken care of vulnerable neighbours.
