A wonderful announcement to end the week on. So many families in Sharston and across the rest of Wythenshawe will benefit from the new family hubs.

A wonderful evening at The Lowry Theatre to see @nationaltheatre.org.uk production of Dear England. Brilliant acting, staging and music - bits of politics and comedy also thrown in whilst dealing with some sensitive and difficult issues.

Still smiling on the doors in Sharston despite the weather (we are used to it in Manchester - and just get on with it!) We picked up a few pieces of casework this morning on airport parking and highways issues which we’ll be updating residents on in the coming days.

This expansion is a real game changer and is a step in the right direction of tackling child poverty. Next step - auto-enrolment! Hundreds of thousands more children to get free school meals www.thetimes.com/article/20e9...

Wonderful to join Wythenshawe Labour colleagues at the Forum this morning for a drop-in event on the future of Civic. Plenty of ideas from local residents flowing this morning which was brilliant to hear.

This #IWD, I’m proud to be part of this amazing group of Manchester Labour women councillors. When I was elected for the first time in 2016, we tipped the balance to 50% representation on the council - and I know every single one of these women work incredibly hard to #AccelerateAction 💪🏻

Thank you to @mikekanemp.bsky.social and team for inviting me to the annual International Women’s Day event at The Nest. Inspiring and moving speeches/calls to action throughout the event - topped off with a fitting tribute to Claire Mooney and a top notch keynote from Kate Green, Deputy Mayor of GM

Wonderful visit to the official opening of Navigators Wythenshawe Hub on Roundthorn Industrial Estate this morning. This is a desperately needed resource for Wythenshawe children, and I really do hope it makes a difference for families.

An enjoyable day (and a first time visit for me) at Ludlow Races. A course with real character and charm, and surrounded by the scenic Shropshire hills and countryside. I also enjoyed a half of the Black Knight Ludlow Brewing stout! Looking forward to visiting this wonderful course again.
