I am aware that there has been another incident with a burst water main in the SE9 and BR7 areas. I have made urgent enquiries with Thameswater about the need for repairs a long-term plan to prevent these issues from reoccurring. 1/2

Good for families and our hospitality and entertainment industries. I’m very proud that we’ve made family days out much cheaper this summer.

A privilege to be invited to @StPaulsLondon for a service of recognition, remembrance and reflection for all those infected and affected by the UK contaminated blood scandal. I remember Martin.

Now that there’s a possible path for @AndyBurnhamGM to get back into parliament, can we now stop the resignations and abuse of the leader and get back to the job of delivering the change we promised at the last general election.

Growing the economy will lead to improvements in people’s standard of living after 14 years of Tory stagnation when, household incomes flatlined or went down. People need hope for the future, not a return to Tory austerity.

From today in Eltham and Chislehurst and across the country, landlords can no longer evict tenants without fair reason which causes huge bills for tax payers for housing homeless families.

Uber is planning to introduce driverless cars from September, without consulting their workers or explaining to them what it means for their jobs. This is another P&O scandal waiting to happen. Existing workers can’t just be thrown aside because companies are too big to care.

Our Renters’ Rights Act will see Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions abolished on 1 May in 37 days’ time. It would be utterly shameful for any landlord to attempt to use it to evict tenants en masse before that date. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

All of this is on top of the fact that Great British Rail has already frozen rail fares and is investing in new rolling stock.

Sunday services to Cannon Street on the Bexleyheath line will be diverted to Charing Cross all day. Diverting the Charing Cross services to Cannon Street never made sense for local passengers, especially those travelling off-peak.

The Charing Cross to Dartford via Bexleyheath service will be restored to two trains per hour, off-peak on weekdays and all day on Saturdays. This means the Bexleyheath line will go back to six trains per hour across Cannon Street, Victoria and Charing Cross services.

I welcome the changes to our local train services that are being made by our newly nationalised company, Great British Railways - owned by the people and run for the people. These changes, which will come online in December, are as follows:

Labour is at its best when we are clear about whose side we are on, and in whose interests we serve, when our values shine through. I want us to be clear that our objective is to lift children out of poverty and that will mean we need to lift the 2 child benefit cap www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
