You know what takes a lot of energy to heat up? Water. And global sea surface temperatures remain substantially above average. Monthly averaged SSTs in 2025 have been the 2nd warmest on record for each respective month. www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso...

That’s not some tragedy that fell upon the world, but a totally predictable (and predicted for well over 3 decades) outcome of fossil fuel use. It must end very quickly to prevent far worse things to come.

It does not matter where Australian fossil fuels are burned - here or overseas - their impacts are global, and will hit Australia hard through more climate and weather extremes. Private company profit now that will cost Australia’s next generations massively in dollars, lives and livelihoods.
