AI can be used for generating the website itself as well. Think of it as producing an average of existing cross-stitch websites, that's why they all the roughly the same. The one you mentioned uses Nextjs, pastel colours, generic homepage etc, so as similaries increase so does the probability of AI

Not only that, but most patterns also come fully integrated into the ClickStitch progress tracker. Existing marketplaces like Etsy have become swamped with stolen patterns (and of course AI). With direct integration, this means there are no files that can be stolen!

I'll put a couple examples here though: 1. A variation of "Created with ❤" in the footer 2. The common mistake of heavily using em dashes (—) 3. Heavy use of pastel colours (especially backgrounds) Please let me know if you've encountered any other common features! I can add them to the page :)

From what I've seen, the average AI cross-stitch software usually have pastel coloured backgrounds, a load of em dashes (—) and a footer that says something along the lines of "Made with ❤️ for crafters". It's unfortunate they are coming from fellow creators, but keep on the look out.

PSA: I've seen some prominent cross-stitch social media accounts create new online pattern maker apps that are 100% AI generated code. The latest one I've seen was developed using Lovable, a "vibe coding" (🤢) app.
