"The Bus Stop", a poem I have written.

I saw someone I once knew get the bus.
They were on their way to a special meet.
Somebody found them in a ditch somewhere.

I watched someone I had never met.
"No service I'm afraid," the waiter said.
Nobody knew where they went after that.

I heard a colleague did not come to work.
"They were let go," The Boss announced proudly.
"We'll find someone to replace them," they lied.

A former teacher I had is now in jail.
Declared an enemy of the nation.
What they did was voice their opinion out.

A neighbour was given seven days note.
"But I am a citizen!" I heard cry.
"Not anymore," came the police reply.

A company was placed onto my street.
"Just for protection, please move along now."
The soldier did not mean what they had said.

My passport was confiscated today.
I am not allowed to leave the country.
Not that I had anywhere I could go.

My home was raided due to a tip off.
Someone claimed I was against the regime.
They sentenced me without a trial at all.

My hands are blistered from digging my grave.
All the tears I could shed have dried up now.
None noticed I was gone at the bus stop.

Was very chuffed to discover that I won the "Ugliest Build Award" for this January playtest of #HotelArchitect. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the game! Also, 64 rooms with no windows and only pea soup to eat. THE WAFT COMING FROM THIS HOTEL!
