How did editing make me feel today? Well, if we think of writing as playing the violin, then I’m probably really good at drums.

at this point, continuity. making sure all the pieces fit together the way they're meant to, making sure updates I make in one place are reflected in the rest of the text properly. there's lots to pay attention to

Not much, I'm still editing, so I haven't sent it to readers yet. I have some feedback from when I was working on chapters in workshops during my MFA, and I am sharing the book with my Wednesday writer's group. What I've gotten has been mostly positive, and that's been encouraging.

I've been enjoying it, though it's nerve wracking in some ways. I worry I'm over explaining certain things and not cutting enough, or if the clarifying additions I make here and there are as necessary as they seem. I'm looking forward to beta reader feedback for that, though that's intimidating too

Thank you, that's so kind and encouraging! It's a modern fantasy novel set primarily in Ireland, with jaunts to America and a few other planes of existence too. The editing is going well, and then it's off to beta readers, and then - well, we'll get there when we get there.
