Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Coronation Street #5750, 3rd May 2004. Doctor Who Magazine Issue 337 displayed on the top shelf. DWM acknowledged their little cameo, but at the time I had no way to see it. 20 years later, thanks to the incredibly organised Corrie fandom, I could finally confirm it. 010 1

Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Thanks! I only knew about it in Season 13. Always nice to expand my collection of this sort of thing 000 0

Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Mostly luck. Someone put the poster on a facebook group around the time I spotted the Grange Hill one, so there was full legible text 120 2
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Do you remember which episode it was in in Season 10? 100 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 22/06/2026It's also seen in Series 13, Episode 15 (20th February 1990) 111 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 22/06/2026 The poster is an advertisement for After ‘Alice’: One hundred years of children’s reading in Britain. This exhibition ran at Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood from 29th September 1977 to 15th January 1978. 282 8
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Now that you mention it, I think pretty much everyone ignored the Christmas angle. UK Gold, Sci Fi Channel and PBS usually aired it in a Doctor Who Night sort of thing. The only one I can think of who made it a Christmas Special was ABC, Australia in 1984. 020 2
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 05/06/2026As far as I know no one ever actually opted for the two part version. Most went the other way, leaned into it being different and billed it as a special broadcast. I wonder if the two part edit really got made. 210 2
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 23/04/2026I only knew him from old bits of Afternoon Show. (I was a baby when they aired; borrowed the odd tape off Dad's friends). Grew very fond of his goofy style and clear enthusiasm for Dr Who. Very sad to hear he's gone. I hope he knew he was appreciated by our little community. 010 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 05/04/2026I feel certain there's a kid somewhere actually doing this. I was playing Mechonoid on a school playground in the mid 90s. 010 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Further study is required to see if Kemel's ever come out from behind his little jacket 010 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Notably not Ian. Keeps his top on when the other Roman slaves don't. Keeps it on again when he's tied up and covered in honey in the desert. The bandit rather coyly puts it on his wrist 020 2

Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 13/03/2026I'm losing my mind running through all the specific bits we'll get to see. Marc Cory's skeleton. Zephon exterminated. Tiny model Dalek in the jungle. When did Stephen change his outfit? How good does a bat on a stick look when directed by Douglas Camfield? Are there Varga in the jungle in Ep 1? 053 5
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 13/03/2026The hardest wait by far was after Ep 5. I'd had the surviving ep on VHS for over 10 years - but had no clue how they got out of 'I'm afraid, my dears, the Daleks have won'. 000 0
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 13/03/2026I snagged this CD in my last year of high school. Decided to go for the vintage experience - one episode on Saturday for 13 weeks. Quickly became a ritual to be treasured and looked forward to. Some episodes were absolutely peak, others felt like filler. All told, immediately my favourite story. 100 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 07/10/2025I'm into old internet lore, this mindset is weirdly common with people who discuss it. Someone abandoning an online account needs a Big Reason. People assume death or major scandal before they assume bored or fed up interacting with other fans. 010 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 18/09/2025My Dad had a bootleg of The Five Doctors followed by one of these. Definitive memory of Fawlty Towers is the theme tune cutting in, with wobbly picture and highly variable speed after watching 5 Docs for the thousandth time. That thing where the tape lost its mind when you started recording. 020 2

Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 03/03/2025I'd be happy to keep all the things you mention, and just change one thing - I wish he wasn't horrible to Peri for no reason. Yelling at or condescending her at random moments is very effective at undermining anything else that might be endearing 020 2
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 19/02/2025Hi Pip! We were talking on twitter about Doctor Who on UK Gold. I'd like to share some new stuff with you. Could you please do the thing that lets me message you on here? 100 1
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 02/02/2025May have aired like this in 1978, 1979, 1984 & 1986. (I have no solid data on when they got new copies from BBC and when they reused their old ones). But I've heard enough separate memories of these green credits to be sure it looked like this for everyone in Australia on at least one broadcast. 000 0
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Another Spearhead oddity I've never had an explanation for - Episode 1 had green credits in Australia for at least the 1984 airing. Was this some kind of early draft that got replaced with the red version? A very obscure technical glitch? www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZZM...youtube.com1984.10.01 Doctor Who: Spearhead from Space 1 (green end credits) (ABC, Australia)YouTube video by ImmenseProfundities 200 2
Andrew Hodson @cleverprime.bsky.social · 02/02/2025I think they copied the titles from one of the adjacent episodes. This is an off air of Episode 2 airing in Canada, with no Episode 2 caption. Guess this is why it didn't have one! www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmYg...youtube.comDoctor Who Spearhead From Space Intro w/o Episode Number on SPACEYouTube video by Retrobox 000 0
