The group had a recent trip to Smardale near Kirby Stephen. The scenery was superb and we managed to see some recently emerged Scotch Argus as well as a number of other butterfly species. A Humming-bird Hawkmoth was seen nectarine on knapweed.

The NATS recently helped with relocation of orchids from Greenabella Marsh to safer location nearby which will not be affected by the forthcoming realignment of the sea wall in the Greatham Creek area.
