It's that time of year! Spring ephemeral flowers are blooming all over the county. Hit the trails with our guide to the most common flowers we see, or join us at Clingman Park tomorrow night at 6pm for a guided Wildflower Walk!

Due to flooding and heavy rains, be prepared for muddy conditions and possible trail closures in our parks! Please be patient with us as our crews work hard to get trails cleared! We strongly advise that visitors respect all signage. For real-time information, check AllTrails before your visit.
Image shows a paved path overlooking flooded woods. There are multiple trees in standing water, and the water almost reaches the path.

Spring Beauties are one of the earliest spring ephemerals here in Southwest Ohio! Did you know that it has its own special bee? The Spring Beauty Miner (Andrena erigeneae) only pollinates spring beauties! Specialist bees are known as oligolectic, and only pollinate one genus or species of flower.
A cluster of three small white-petaled flowers, with pink striping on the petals, are in the top left corner of the image. The flowers have yellow stamens with pink pollen.
