The two state solution might seem easy, but it's not, which is why it's never happened. And now Israel has stolen all but tiny, separate fragments of Palestinian land and all water aquifers. Personally I don't believe it's feasible, and that a secular one state is the only non-colonial option. But..

A new day has dawned and yes, Labour have 1 new backbencher. 🤷 In the Green Party, things are on the same trajectory towards the next GE as before, but firmly stating that we stand against genocide and corruption. And we've seen who are not to be trusted. 💚

Well if you're commenting surely you should have read the full text already, no? Clearly if and hopefully when it comes to it, no one will force a 1 state solution. Muslim & Christian Palestinians and Israelis must work their own plan, like Northern Ireland did. This motion is a first step only.

I'm not sure but I'm 50 and like all of us I've spent three years watching a genocide, and seeing our Labour government complicit. There's a reason thousands of protestors are being arrested, and many people want a party that is changing the rhetoric re antizionism is NOT antisemitism.

Not at all! You totally misunderstand Green Party culture. Most members don't agree with Caroline Lucas, and understand both why it would be tricky to change the conference, which was already the biggest ever put on, and how hard he has been campaigning. Challenge doesn't make him a weak leader.

The conference was already planned before anyone had any idea Starmer would trigger this by election in petulance about being replaced by Burnham. But doesn't that again conflate judaism and zionism by saying that zionism is essentially about stopping antisemitism? Hasn't Jewish culture through the centuries maintained spiritual connection without a state? Modern zionism seems very much focused on power, land, and warfare rather than spirit.

This motion was created by - as far as I understand - by a group of Palestinian GP members. I'm not sure if any Jewish members were involved. So the focus is on Zionist apartheid, genocide & Palestinians' lack of rights to return to their ancestral home. But it says the ideal is a homeland for all.
