I haven’t been reading for a while but I finally finished these two and they were pretty good. The first one was great but the sequel was tarnished somewhat by me falling off the reading wagon 😓

Two comics about the moment I realised I was in love with my girlfriend 🫣 (2/4)

A young woman (me) on a transperth train staring down the carriage as she realises she's in love with her best friend. A close up of her looking shocked and embarrassed in the second panel

Close ups of different physical reactions , trembling lips, wide eyes, upset stomach as I process this realization.
Then the train arrives in the station for me to meet my date who is not my best friend.

Me walking away from my date and briefly reflecting on how pushy he was.

Me thinking more about how I'm in love with my best friend and how she probably loves me too. Various emotions, neutral , lovey dovey and embarrassed/guilty.
The final panel is me realising the time I've wasted.

Vee was cropped out, sorry no short girls allowed

Five characters around a campfire at night. They are near a lake and fireflies glow around them. The boys are joking to each other but the girls are serious

A little bit ago @sophieamr.bsky.social posted a panel comparison from these pages, but I thought I'd share the full things because it's really cool to see the progress! 2025 vs 2020 #Redraw

A comic page that's being directly compared to the 2nd picture. The colours are more vibrant and the setting coherent. The panels flow together more and the characters are staged more naturalistically.

The comparative comic page from five years ago. The colours are less saturated and the bubbles don't flow as cleanly. Characters are forced to face the viewer as often as possible.

Last two reads over the last fortnight, My Adrogynous Boyfriend and Liquor & Cigarettes. Both were very cute, but I was so excited to find L&C because it was one of the many BL I read years ago that I really liked but didn't know the english name for, so super happy I've found it!

This one was incredible! Gorgeous art and a fantastic story that begs to be revisited a couple times, Bolero is that universal story of 'would my life be better if it was completely different?' Which is just a pretense for the more destructive question, 'Can I escape myself?' Loved every part of it

Finished reading this wonderful book by Genieve Jagger and would definitely recommend it if you love queer catholic angst and vampires. A bit of a slow burn to start but once it gets into the meat and potatoes, it was an intriguing and vivid read

2 and 3 were a lot better, especially 3. However , I still liked the art style of 1 the most, but it felt more like an actual narrative in the third part and the funland parts were really cool. The two insane scientists were fun too, overall pretty good read if you like the genre~
