Mekons, the long-lived Leeds folk-punk band. I certainly wasn't one of the aging punks in the crowd for their show last year, no, for I am young and spry

The Mekon, would-be ruler of Venus and the universe, lord of the Treens, and archenemy of Dan Dare. Created by Frank Hampson, he's a funny lil' green guy with a big head

Beware! This isn't a Mekon, but a Mekom, with a connsumate M - connsumate! By Sidney Sime, this was from the part of his "From an Ultimate Dim Thule" series that appeared in The Idler's June 1897 issue. He's occasionally been called the Mekon in other sources, so be wary.
