Have you heard of EPS? 🥤 It's a type of rigid plastic foam (often referred to as Styrofoam, which is a trademarked name by Dow Chemical Co.) that never biodegrades, despite the fact that it easily breaks into millions of tiny polluting pieces over time. 👎

Keep Plastic Free July going by just keeping going. Bring your own bag, refuse single use plastic, support policies that reduce the amount of plastic in our lives, make better choices. We know you can do it.
Plastic Free July text from Clean Fairfax

Globally, 1 million plastic bottles are purchased every minute.

It takes 17 million barrels of oil to meet the annual U.S. demand for bottled water.

A whopping 86% of those bottles are not recycled but wind up in landfill or, worse, in the environment.

Refuse single use plastic; reach for reusables
