When walking on a forest trail, it often makes sense to take the same steps others have taken. But there’s a danger too, because overused steps can become worn down, slick and slippery. So the trick, then, is to know when to utilise the wisdom of the crowds and when to strategically diverge.

When I was a kid visiting Wellington for the first time, I was disappointed by the beehive. I thought it would be bigger and grander like the White House. As an adult I’m still disappointed by the beehive, for different reasons, but I no longer wish it was more like the White House. #newzealand
