Hello!! Sorry it's been a while, but my thesis has taken over my life. It's finally up, and it's exceeded my expectations! Now I just have to focus on my writing, and I'll be graduating in May! #pottery #ceramics #sculpture #installation

I'd like to revive that call to action and rally support from our community of makers to encourage people to be proactive. I'd like to open up an artist supported raffle encouraging people to donate to any cause or organization that is in danger of funding...

Hey ya'll, I'm kind of tired of screaming into the void every morning and thinking about what I can do. Recently, I've been thinking about how amazing the clay community rallied to support civil rights and make change in 2020 through what we do best; building community and making things...

This is the last one from the firing! During my classes, I've been working on some cups for an upcoming woodfire to see how this translates to a different body and firing. I'm hoping to get some sweet woodash drips! #pottery #ceramics

Another one! I have a few more started in my studio, so over the next few days, I'll add the rest of the finished ones as well as some in progress. #pottery #ceramics #earthenware #handmade

I do make cups and stuff, I promise. But I really love forms that leave the field for function open: Vases, boxes, censers, platters. These open ended containers allow for endless play on my end and versatile use on the owners’ end. It’s a collaborative field and I love that. Do what you want 💖

I'm finally getting around to documenting the work from my last glaze firing. I'm really looking forward to post thesis when I can really start exploring this body of work through different forms. #pottery #ceramics #handmade #earthenware

I had a thesis committee check-in on Friday. Things are getting real now! In a few months, I'll be graduating, and the job search is starting to warm up. #gradschool #ceramics #mfa

A great read! I severely dislike the gatekeeping and snobbery that some people hold over being an artist and artistic practice. I firmly believe that if you can manifest your ideas into form through creative expression, then you are an artist.

Thank you so much! It's about 13 inches tall and all coil built. It's lowfire earthenware covered in terra sig that gets scraped away. After it's bisque fired it gets an umber wash and fired again. Then it gets painted with watered down mason stains and gerstley borate and a crawling glaze.

Some older work for this Thursday! I never thought I'd be doing this or that it was a thing that even existed until I took a wheel class as an elective at college many years ago. The next thing I knew, I grew a beard and had an art degree. #pottery #ceramics #pottersofbluesky

Another jar from last semester! The new ones came out really well, I just need to get some pictures of them. It amazed me how much my work has changed over the past few years, but I guess that's what grad school does. #pottery #ceramics #handmade #art #earthenware

For those local to Orlando, or passing through, I’ll be using this platform to help with promotion and engagement for ceramic exhibitions I host here in town. For y’all not local, I’m building a website. It’s in progress, but let’s throw it into the sky anyway: www.crossdraftgallery.com

Im you resident Appalachian academic, artist, storyteller, holler woman, making art about Mountain folklife. You'll find me reconciling the land-based practices I grew up with and the effects of extractive industries, exploring ideas of Appalachian identity, making art with Fungi.
