Happy World Teachers’ Day! Thank you to all the teachers across this province who work so hard every day to educate and care for our kids. We're grateful for the way you support and inspire students every day.

Rush hour is one thing, but people know that even on the weekend getting around the Halifax is slow at best. And when one of the bridges is closed, it's 10x worse. There are solutions but they're sitting on a shelf because HRM traffic isn't a priority for this government—and it needs to be.

Today we mark Treaty Day and the first day of Mi’kmaw History Month. As we celebrate Mi’kmaw history, culture, and language, we recognize and honour the enduring treaty relationship between the Mi’kmaq and all those who live in Mi'kma'ki.

Today, on Orange Shirt Day, we remember the Indigenous families forced into the residential school system in Nova Scotia and across the country. These institutions tore families and communities apart, and left a legacy of trauma in their wake. Every child matters.

Ten years ago, if you'd told any Nova Scotian that it would become more expensive to rent in Halifax than in Ontario or BC, they'd have laughed out loud. But after years of Liberal neglect and poor PC housing planning, that's just what we're facing now.

After 5 years of a PC government elected to fix Liberal health care neglect, getting the care you need when you need it is still a real struggle in Nova Scotia.

Despite working for the federal government and cost-sharing a relatively affordable place to live, people like Tim are leaving our province. Businesses are losing workers. Families are spreading out across the country. And our province is losing its most valuable asset: people.

A week ago the Legislature wrapped after just nine days working for Nova Scotians and before this government revealed a $1.4 billion deficit, record debt, and record debt servicing costs.

People are fed up with traffic in HRM. They can't get where they need to go and are spending more at the pump just to idle in gridlock.

One accident and Halifax is in gridlock. Health care workers can't get to their shifts. Parents can't get kids to school. People can't get to work or appointments. Yet this government keeps making choices that make traffic worse in HRM.

A note of gratitude to Haley, Donna and Kelly for standing with us. We see you & we're with you.

Two years ago today, all parties came together to recognize the epidemic of intimate partner violence in Nova Scotia. This declaration was an important first step, but it must be backed by action. Nova Scotians escaping violence need real support — including access to safe, affordable housing.

Thanks to the thousands of Nova Scotians who made their voices heard, the Speaker of the House has lifted her blanket ban on all members of the public who were present as some sang in protest from the gallery this spring. This was a fundamental overreach and we're glad to see it lifted.

Tim Houston's trickle-down housing plan isn't working. Building more expensive housing alone won't solve the affordability crisis. When we focus on building homes people can actually afford, creating good jobs, and growing our economy, real change is possible.

Being a parent in one of the most expensive Canadian cities to live is already tough enough. If this government took the pressures of being a parent seriously, they wouldn't slash a program that was making students independent, reducing traffic congestion, and lowering the household gas bill.
