“Speak Selection” setting in iOS and macOS is pretty convenient when you’re learning a new language. Just by highlighting a word or sentence and clicking “speak” (or opt + esc), you can have a voice with good enough pronunciation read it out loud. No need of third-party apps.

It would be interesting to see the slow movement applied to software development. Focusing on building software with care (as we used to do?) and sustainability in mind (consuming less resources, including less LLM use for the sake of it).

Wow that’s a lot of books! Some books I read this year I liked were Human Acts and The Vegetarian both by Han Kang and Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. If you’re into social sci-fi, The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. For adult fantasy, I love The Name of the Wind.

I haven’t done any maths/statistics since 2019 but after a semester of working hard, I managed to get a 9,6 out of 10 in Multivariate Analysis and a Matrícula de Honor (top 5%) in Regression Methods 🥳

The CEO of certain CMS company keeps downplaying front-end development and it’s getting annoyed. “You can absolutely vibe code the whole UI but don’t you dare doing that with the backend” 🙄🙄🙄
