ICYMI we've cut the price of Sonnet 5.5 cache reads in half. In the Claude Platform, it's now $0.10 per million tokens (input is $2, output is $10). This means Sonnet 5.5 now runs ~20% cheaper on most agentic work. (API only, no change to Claude Code usage limits.)

Previously, you had to write your own loop and map clicks and keystrokes to commands, but the SDKs now run the loop and send actions to drivers.

RT @lydiahallie: A few of you asked what mods are, here's a quick walkthrough! They’re really just plugins with a few special functions that let your code run inside Claude Code, like middleware. (don't worry, you can just ask Claude to write them for you 😛)

We recommend starting with Opus for large projects and Sonnet for tasks where you need to balance quality with speed and cost. Claude apps default to medium effort, while Platform is at high. Cranking Sonnet to max loses some of the balance (and you might want to consider Opus).

As our models grow more powerful, safeguards are one way we prevent misuse. Opus 5.5 is the first Opus with Fable 5.1-class safeguards on cyber, bio, and frontier LLM development. Flagged requests fall back to another model, and we're working to reduce incorrect flags.

Opus 5.5 is a lot better at writing too. It’s clearer, uses less jargon, and follows the writing rules you give it. Long Claude Code sessions are much easier to follow!

Evals call the model, so they use tokens and results vary. Pilot with `--runs 1` before a full run. Your plugin's hooks and MCP servers run as you, so only evaluate plugins you trust. Run claude update to try it. Docs: code.claude.com/docs/en/plugin-evals
