Loved coming into the kitchen this morning to find my daughter cooking up a big batch of some kind of dip to take to a visit with a couple of local cousins. I don't get to watch her in action as a crisis clinician, but I do get to watch her practicing her old profession. It's fun.

Dropped my timer/alarm clock on the floor last night and of course it scooted under the bed (why so far? you have no wheels), losing the battery case top (it went all the way to the far baseboard) AND it's AAA battery, which is apparently the only one in the house. Which has not surfaced as yet.

I think the problem with assuming that AI will choose to destroy humanity because of how evil we have become (environment, etc.) does not take into account the billions of humans who are not responsible for the sins of the rest of us. I may run that thought past Chatgpt. :)

Uh oh. My daughter's dog has a swollen tick on him. She is rabidly insect averse. I once pulled 27 ticks from our dog Orphia. But she won't let me near Jack yet as she's afraid that he might bite. As to letting me pull a tick, I don't think Jack would be best pleased. What to do, what to do?

I'm reading a novel called "Crucible" by John Sayles, in which it seems the Ford Motor Company is the crucible for the labor movement. I'm at the point in the book where the Ford workers are finally allowed a vote for their preference - seems that CIO/UAW is winning out.

So, my grocery store has a separate liquor store at one end. I went there and bought my weekly bottle of red wine. Paid with my debit card. Punched in my pin# which was as familiar as my name. Did my grocery shopping. Checked out - forgot pin#. My son had to come check me out. WTF????

Apparently the holdout juror in the Clancy trial refused to vote for acquittal, otherwise, Clancy would have been found not guilty. Interesting that a jury of her peers was willing to acquit her of murdering her children. I wonder what the gender makeup of the jury was.
