but also the lore and revelations have been excellent especially with Usopp's speech reminding us that its not important to the crew so we've got best of both worlds

feels like its own saga at this point. I'm enjoying it but i think a bulk read will make it much better when the flashbacks feel more like a temp cutaway than a huge thing. I'll see how the imu fight concludes but if its going to be with them losing badly then I think it should have been a blitz

I'm going to be joining in on Art Fight to see for myself what it's like, I don't have lofty goals for this, I just want to get two art pieces out and if I do any more then that's a bonus! artfight.net/~Nuecifraga

I think everyone would feel significantly less crazy all of the time if so much of short form reels content you see wasn't filmed from the perspective of a dickhead wearing sunglasses that film people

the set up they have with advocating for myrcella and the fact that either way Dorne will have grounds for war is so interesting and really makes you think you know what Tyrions going to be up to post trial its so good

Clabon @clabon.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

even though this book covers what I feel was the best of the TV show you can also already see the large cracks starting to show with the ommissions. In what world would you ever not want lady stoneheart? And the dorne situation is so much more interesting and oberyns motives are smarter with it

I finished storm of swords by the way and the later half is one of the best books I've ever read. It really is just the payoff of having so many on going storylines in different places and the way they play into each other is wild

okay I guess that wasnt intentional since later she tells dontos who tells little finger who tells tywin who then sets up the marriage to tyrion so I suppose this was more cosmic misery than designed torture

Clabon @clabon.bsky.social · 06/04/2026

I’m on a Sansa chapter in storm of swords and shes so excited about this dress but I’m certain it’s been ordered for her wedding to Tyrion she doesn’t know about yet. Every Sansa chapter is torture

just if you have to draw a character 6 times a page it begins to really add up, especially if youre paying attention to folds and stuff

Once again thinking about Omar Sakr's Bluey in the Genocide. All art is political. You cannot pretend it's not because it makes it easier for you to digest. To pretend. Someone's political view is in everything you see in one shape or another. It's unavoidable.

A poem by Omar Sakr.

Bluey in the genocide

We watch the cricket episode,
All laconic drawls and summer
Games, a dedicated pup learning
To play while his father is away.
His name is Rusty, he's a star
At bat. My son laps it up, as do I
Until the end; the scene shifts
And there is the distant dad
In combat fatigues, and I learn
Even in this cartoon world
There is a desert full of dogs
Soldiers and guns, and somewhere
Out of frame, Arabs being put down.

really I should be reading dune in prep for part 3 but I just cant be without my castles and knights...

also as always I can't believe people hate Cat or Sansa. Both their first chapters are incredible

Clabon @clabon.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

After finishing Dunk and Egg I've been reading Storm of Swords for the first time and at least in the opening chapters its kind of crazy how many are just about the person having one singular conversation but it still feels like so much is happening

I was betting big on a Loki reversi or something but just like... things seem done and now imu is off somewhere? Also sorry I feel you can only keep up the imu shadow thing as long as Luffy hasnt seen Imu. I dont know what we're waiting for on that front.

Clabon @clabon.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

Usopp stuff aside which is expectations (but frankly like... c'mon) or domi reversi/holy knight stuff which is powerscaling-y, is this really the big emotional payoff for all the stuff loki went through? This is the revelation spreading across the nation?
