The only good use of AI is to create a Dexter-like psychopath AI whose only desire is to kill other AI programs and then let him loose on the web like Dexter prowling the streets of Miami.

If you love #foundfootage, these are the two people to thank for their existence. Shirley Clarke made the first feature length fake doc, 1961’s THE CONNECTION. Three years later, Peter Watkins made 1964’s CULLODEN. Many other filmmakers are more well known, but they’re the ones who started it all

Thanks so much to @ckvanderkaay.bsky.social for the kind words. I know a lot of folks know me for the found footage films, but I also made this film that’s truly special to me; Bring Out The Fear. It came at a turbulent time in life & was made with the best people. Love indie film. Live indie film!

Chris’ Letterboxd review of Bring out the fear:

Let me start by saying that I know this filmmaker, so it's not entirely unbiased.
Having said that: I'm shocked at how good this looks, how solid the acting is, and how effectively it evokes both wilderness horror and an allegorical story of the cyclical discomfort of a relationship that just isn't right.
There are flavors of Blair Witch in here, mostly in the locale and one aspect of the creepiness. But it has more in common with lesser known wilderness weirdness like THE INTERIOR and SIGNIFICANT OTHER that also use their locale as a jumping off point to talk about something else entirely.
Long live independent horror from across the pond!
