The current result of Gnome is that many Gnome applications are completely unusable and I'm increasingly incandescently angry. Here's an illustration of how bad it is, with completely unusable controls in virt-viewer.

A window with a black top title bar and a grey content area with "waiting for guest domain to start". The black top bar has a computer icon, a blue-outlined black box, and nothing else visible, where it should have a bunch of icons and text that one can click on and use.

I can't swear that this is the same birdbrain, but it's certainly perched on the branches outside the kitchen window. And it could see me, since it inconveniently moved away from the closest branch when this weird thing held up another weird thing. (It's not a great photo for various reasons.)

A somewhat off-center small bird is perched on a tree branch in a clutter of other branches and leafing out bits of the tree, keeping a wary eye on the photographer. It has a white breast, a black throat, face, and beak (more or less), and although you can't see much of it from this angle, it's brown on top. An expert bird watcher would probably do a much better description from knowing what to look for, and I'm not even going to try to describe the leafing-out leaves or what I think are seed pods in the background.
