#caninekingOCs no way i forgot ace's literal first design iteration i actually purposefully made them buff but my art skill was so bad it never got translated in each iteration (also 5'4"?? they're 6'0" now!!!!!!!)

showed off OCs "then VS now" on twitter and wanted to share them here too, it's fun looking back and comparing it (i actually went full circle on some design elements that i didn't realize until now??) #caninekingOCs

i was casually talking about this but the realization on how much this legitimately fits ace is actually haunting me #caninekingOCs

pretty sure i've mused about their difference in sleepwear but actually drawing it out and seeing it is killing me man #caninekingOCs

A pair of chibis of the artist's OCs wearing their sleepwear. One of them is in a pair of heart printed boxers and some socks. The other is in the most expensive looking, gilded, dark blue silk robes and slippers.

a little doodle that was meant to be a part of something else but i decided to scrap it and just have it as a standalone lol they're very cute to me... #caninekingOCs

A chibi drawing of the artist's OCs, Mel and Ace. Mel is pinching Ace's cheek with an annoyed yet flustered look on her face.

a bit of a long story on why i drew faye being smug but it's kind of a cute expression on her lol #caninekingOCs

this guy doesn't know they're in a person vs self type of story #caninekingOCs

my sister and i started casually rewatching cardcaptor and i love the ending screen this is the ending screen it cuts to right after my blorbo ocs go through something so deeply traumatic that they struggle to recover from for the rest of the show #caninekingOCs

A redraw of the Cardcaptor Sakura ending animation but replacing the character with the artist's sona/ mascot character instead.

been thinking about these two specific flavours of ace lately #caninekingOCs

Two different versions of the same OC. One has a clean suit, clean shaven, and slicked back hair. They're adjusting their tie while thinking, "I'm probably (blank) because everyone says I'm (blank). (It's probably best to not question...)."
Another version has them completely dishevelled from their suit with their hair down and covering their face and a slight bead. They have a stressed expression on their face while they hug one arm over the other in front of them and hunching over. They're thinking, "I'm probably (blank) but I'm being hunted to either be killed or turned into an imprisoned 'god' so I don't have time to think about that right now".

i also found this one from '22 as well using the same book i've been trying to reference today i honestly feel mixed on how it looks similar to how i've been drawing gestures now :') it's really hard to tell if there's any improvement between these images but i guess that means i gotta practice more

010

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

it's been way over a week since i started doing figure/ gesture drawings and the difference between when i started again after years vs today is interesting lol (i also found one from 2022 but i don't remember the times obviously)

characters that yearn for the most "mundane" life but can't due to circumstances outside of their control makes me want to scream until i pass out idk #caninekingOCs

A black and white comic of the artist's OCs, Faye and Mikhail. They're sitting on the floor and leaning against a bookshelf.
Mikhail: Have you ever thought about what it'd be like if we were just... If we weren't a part of all this?
Faye: A part of what?
Mikhail: The whole... Grand Keeper, the Archivists, Grimoires, and Artifacts— all of it! Did you ever think about what it'd be like if our family wasn't a part of it?

Faye: ... Yeah, of course I did.
Faye: I thought about living closer to the city and trying out local events or clubs. Or about how nice it'd be to plan a trip, like going to a theme park. I even thought about going out to eat something indulgent or even just try to cook something new myself.
Mikhail: Hah, you'd probably just get me to do most of the cooking for you.
Faye: Hey, I said try to!

Faye clenches her fist tighter and the shadow casting on the floor beside her shimmers.
Faye: ... If things were different, I'd want to do something like... I don't know, stay up and watch movies with you... Something like that.
Faye curls up to hug her knees. A moment of silence passes as a deep frown briefly forms on her face. She quickly turns with a pained smile.
Faye: Ah, well, there's no point in thinking about that now. It's all just a pipe dream.

Mikhail looks at Faye with a slight frown towards her. He looks away for a second with his brow furrowed in thought. Still surrounded by books, he looks at her again.
Mikhail: ... Well, I think it's a good dream.

finally got around and convinced myself to redesign ace yet again after literal months thinking about and considering it...... #caninekingOCs

The artist's OC's reference sheet. They have a buff build with scars on their face and body. Their hair is up in a small ponytail/ halfdo where majority is red while the bottom, shorter hair below the ponytail is black. They're wearing a simple suit with suspenders with the arm cuffs rolled up and the top slightly unbuttoned with a loose blue tie.

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

i love designing a face for new OCs to imagine them better while i write but never bothering w/ the outfit so later down the line i get lazy and just put them in a dress shirt or something <3 #caninekingOCs

A bust of the artist's OC. She has dark brown hair to a blond colour ombre in a wolfcut. She has tan skin with sharp features and a beauty mark under her right eye. She also wears large glasses.

A bust of the artist's OC. She has long, black hair and fair skin. Her eyes are sharp with a slight wrinkle under her eyes and her brows are furrowed. Another drawing is with her hair up in a ponytail.

figured out more details about ace and mel's story and their meet cute is a good ol classic kidnapping #caninekingOCs

Two panels of the artist's OCs Ace and Mel.
Panel 1: Ace is laying on the ground on their stomach with their hands tied behind their back as they look slightly beaten up. They angrily look up and behind them as a boot presses down on their back.
Panel 2: Mel looks down almost uninterested at Ace as she makes a phone call with one hand.
Below the panels is a chibi of the two of them with Mel dragging Ace tied up behind her.

too impatient to clean this redesign up (not even gonna post the finished thing anyways) but the difference in how i draw muscles is very funny lol i like buff idk #caninekingOCs

The artist's OC naked and in a neutral standing pose at 3/4 view. They have a pair of fiery coloured horns sticking straight up from the head and a pair of hooves replacing their feet. They have a long, thin tail with spaded tip. The picture shows two versions of the same character drawn from 2025 compared to today.

i think i'm finally done redesigning levi now.... this is one of the most drastic oc redesigns i've done so far lmao #caninekingOCs

The artist's OC, Levi's, reference sheet. He's a humanoid shark- octopus pirate with one half of his face and arm with exposed muscle/ scars. With his pirate outfit, he has one arm off the jacket that loosely hangs around the belt with his other arm wearing it. His scarred half is covered in bandages.

been playing fields of mistria a bunch yippee ... don't ask me to try to emulate the sprite art ever again i did NOT do it correctly at all #caninekingOCs

An icon of the artist's player character in Fields of Mistira, closely resembling the pixel art of the sprite style used in game. The character sprite from the game itself is pasted beside him.

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

sorry for the weird canvas size lmao but finally got around to try to redesign levi more and?? he looks so different.............. #caninekingOCs

The artist's OC Levi, comparing his new design to his old one. He is a steel blue coloured humanoid shark. His head is more shaped to be similar to a shark's snout and the back of his head flows out into tentacles like his hair. He has a giant shark tail. On his right side of his face and arm, it's almost as if his skin was ripped off and his muscle fibers and bones are visible, while his hand and up the arm is black like it's charred. Green flames are covering his arm and face, but the ones on his face looks almost as if it's turning into a vortex into his eye. His old design is similar but his eye and arm are coloured black with some red streaks. His tentacle hair rests on his head instead of slicked back and it's coloured black with the tips coloured red.

142

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

i've been thinking of redesigning levi for along while lmao #caninekingOCs

Bust sketches of the artist's OC. He has shark fins, tail, and tentacles for hair. His right half of his face is covered in scars forming a vortex like pattern going into his eye. the scars run deep enough that his shark teeth and cheekbone is more exposed. A fullbody doodle shows his right face and arm completely covered in scars and transforming into tendrils.

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

wanted to put them both in "casual" wear and they still look staggeringly different from each other lmao #caninekingOCs

A chibi of the artist's OC Audrey wearing a black leather jacket on top of grey hoodie. She also wears baggy jeans and black boots. Green colour decor is doodled around her such as a dog, a bone, a magnifying glass, and paw prints.

A chibi of the artist's OC Faye wearing a dark coloured turtleneck underneath a white, loose fitting dress shirt that's unbuttoned. She wears dark coloured waist high pants and a pair of high rise shoes. Red decor is doodled around her such as a bird, a feathered pen and a bottle of ink, a book, and a stylized eye.

idk pretend they're at the far back in a fancy party or something #caninekingOCs

A four panel comic of the artist's OCs, Audrey and Faye, in a suit and dress respectively. Faye is sitting on Audrey's lap as she enjoys a drink while Audrey kisses Faye's back from her backless dress and arms wrapped around her waist. Faye leans back and says, "Feeling impatient, hm?" with a flirty expression on her face. Audrey's face is red as she just stares at Faye's lips. There's a close up of Faye grabbing Audrey's tie and their lips barely touching. Faye says, "Me too.".

083

some guy (CK) @ckguy.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

i like to think of them cuddling very cutely :) #caninekingOCs

The artist's OCs, Audrey and Faye, cuddling on a bed with the pillows and sheet sprawled around. Audrey, with a bigger body type than Faye's, cuddles close to Faye with her arms and legs wrapped around her. She almost looks like she's on top of her and has a peaceful sleeping expression. Faye has a strained look on her face as she sleeps. In dream bubbles, Audrey dreams of peacefully sleeping on some soft clouds in the night sky. Faye dreams about being crushed by a giant dog.

what do you mean i've only drawn the design of the head with a small outline of the character and i've finally attempted to draw her full design after....... 2 years. uh oh. #caninekingOCs

The artist's OC with a big, blue cardigan with a shoulder bag and carrying a cup of coffee and a journal.

finally got motivated enough to put my updated sona in WHA yay took me two years to figure out how to put on crown on my self insert AU lmao #caninekingOCs

Doodles of the artist's OC/ sona dressed to be in the Witch Hat Atelier setting. His colour palette is white and red with black and gold accents. His pointed cap is a tall red cap with gold accents wrapped around. On the base, it has a white fur brim with black spotted patterns. On top is a gold crown. His accessory on the tip is a pointed arrow shape with a long red ribbon. There's also a brim hat version where the brim's trim has gold spikes around. Another version has a darker brim hat but the entire brim is covered in golden thorns and blood drips down on his face.

The artist's OCs, Mikhail and Faye. Faye is looking away elsewhere with a finger up and talking excessively about something. Mikhail looks at her with a wry smile trying to listen to her. Both of the character's eyes has mirrored heterochromia. Mikhail's right eye colour is a bright red with the left being a natural dark brown. Faye's eye colours are revered.

so at first it would've just been levi and his human AU but angelo still annoying him in every universe is still funny to me #caninekingOCs

An uncoloured sketch portrait of the artist's OC, Angelo. He has braits on the top of his head pulled back into a short ponytail. Two braids are sectioned off at the front like bangs with rounded beads at the end. His ears are pierced with spikes going around the shell.
Another doodle has him and another OC in a car. Angelo talks about Shadow the Hedgehog to the driver while he thinks about a car going off a cliff.
