Marisa Anderson. Check out her music and see her if she's coming through your town. Great performance

Pat Metheny (or his setup at least - no pictures rule). This was amazing.

Early bus doesn't make sense. Actually going to miss the bus because of this.

Design consultants were 5 and 10yo. One of these is scary (or at least very annoying) to parents.

Two jack o lanterns. One has a typical pumkin face. The other has the numerals 6 and 7 carved in.

Hiromi's Sonicwonder. She played a solo piano piece (seemingly Keith Jarrett style improvised) that was probably the most mind-blowing piano playing I've ever witnessed.

Had a great time traveling through the aural space of Armenia and wonky free jazz played on a wild assortment of instruments (toy and otherwise) with Adam Shead's Microplastique last night at Audio for the Arts in Madison. Definitely the best electric toothbrush performance I've seen.

The setup. Lots of percussion instruments scattered around on the floor around where the artists will play. Toy pianos, flutes, soprano saxophone also visible. Also, electronic toothbrushes.

The artists playing the instruments described in the other alt test.

Highly ecommended this short little book. Very cool prose and a really well done translation.

Work brain bleeding into home brain: I had to make a downspout repair today. I had my test up and running when I realized that I was doing a unit test in the physical world. Let me just mock the rain landing on the roof and make sure water comes out of the downspout.

Gabriel Zucker and Attila Gyarfas. This was a completely mind-blowing performance in the smallest venue I've ever been in (Audio for the arts studio in Madison). Look them up on youtube to get a taste.

The performance described above. GZ left on piano and synth. AG right on drums.

Fixed up my mother-in-law's 1960s Harmony - fixed a crack in the bridge, some polishing, and new strings. I can't believe how well this guitar plays after having sat in a closet for 40 years or so.
