I am partial to 'The Singles Collection'. Yes, it does have 'Dancing in the Street', but also has 'Alabama Song', which introduced me to Brecht & Weill (The Doors version didn't do much for me)

In this article, Bart Cammaerts and @cjimenez-m.bsky.social study the media coverage of the Tour de France 2022, finding that media events are arenas where the boundaries of visibility are fought over, exposing shifting architectures of power that shape what can be seen and concealed. bit.ly/3RilKuj

Talib Visram interviewed me for his podcast America's Cup, and we talked about how some national flags can mean more than just a national flag. You can listen to it here: talibvisram.substack.com/p/flagging-f...

Not too long ago, I was asked to write a review of a classic book that has been particularly influential for me: 'The Media and Modernity: A Social Theory of the Media', by John B. Thompson. You can read it here: www.degruyterbrill.com/.../commun-2...

"No te preocupes. A ti te va a ir bien".

Still, I am very proud that we expressed perhaps clearer than before our thoughts, such as how fragile many campaigns have been, how versions of national identity produced rely on -and perpetuate- global and local inequalities, and how ordinary people (i.e. the nation) are often overlooked.

We started in 2020, thinking it would be a relatively easy task: a summary of the history of nation branding across the American continent(s). And yet, things got more complicated, partly due to a pandemic and the changing world.
