It’s been a long hot day. I’ve walked a lot, shopped at The Market, played music to a big, busy room; also had a very tasty kebab and drank a fairly strong and smashing cold bespoke IPA. Wanted to say, however, I’m never, ever, going to forgive this man his stupidity here.

I spent some years in the military. I have a lay person’s knowledge of the workings of government, alliances and factional interests. This use of the RAF, in the Middle East is wrong. Service people will do their duties unfailingly. If people from Britain perish, I’ll feel that sadness personally😞

This is a media ecosystem that confuses provocation for importance and controversy for relevance.

He is handed microphone after microphone, given hours of airtime under the guise of "balance." But what is being balanced here? When you consistently platform hate, you don’t just reflect public discourse, you shape it.

Reform UK receives disproportionate media coverage compared to its actual political presence. Nigel Farage, despite leading a party with no elected MPs, is granted more exposure than leaders of the Greens or the Liberal Democrats.

Ain’t it the truth. My dad was a 5?year POW in upper Silesia. PTSD and The Long March did for him. He developed MS through immune system collapse. Absolutely crippled, Tories held out till 64, then Wilson’s lot relented and granted him a pension. 27 fucking Tribunals he went through 😡

Citizen @cjf169.bsky.social · 06/05/2025

A few well-fed faces here. Don’t spose (like my dad) they had to go through 27 military tribunals for a war pension for extreme disability. It’s an unequal society when the great & good live in luxury whilst every day people grub around making end’s meet. I believe we need to change that somehow.

Hello Blue Sky community! I have just got here :) Please introduce yourselves - I might know a few of you already. I'm a gigging musician so that's my main interest. If you are too, or are a venue / promoter, then maybe this is a good place to all hook up for all our benefits... :)

This show. Not broadcasting now but still in the archives of WFMU.org. It goes back to 2001 and ends in 2022. Each show 3 hours. Freeform Roots music, folk, avant garde, old country, blues and world genres. I’ve listened to every one of them. Took 18 months, learnt masses 🌹 www.wfmu.org/playlists/SP

Back when, as a military fella, I knew these contraptions pretty well. Made in the early 50’s they were still in use in the late 60’s. Unreliable, contrary and, in some cases, plain dangerous😐 I guess we got the best out of um with some skill hopefully.

You probably 'remember' that Corbyn was Putin's stooge, when in fact, as Peter Oborne points out (former Telegraph journo), 'no politician has been more consistent or more prescient about Putin than Corbyn'. An example of how history and memory is rewritten by the centre and right.

The Man Who Built Titanic Stan Fraser lived in Inverness & was fascinated by the sea & particularly boats. All sorts of sea-going craft. But his favourite was Titanic. So Stan decided to build one, only a scale model of course. Titanic was 880 ft (270m) long. So Stan settled for 1/10 scale. 1/15

Privatisation hasn't failed, it is Profitisation. Taking something owned by you, transferring it to them, and then robbing you forever. It should all be taken back from the thieves with no compensation.
