Just 13 years before being appointed to the Supreme Court, Thurgood Marshall led the team that argued Brown v. Board of Education — the case in which the Court declared segregation in public schools unconstitutional. An independent judiciary is what makes these cases possible.
Thurgood Marshall seated in formal attire with text celebrating his appointment as the first Black Supreme Court justice on October 2, 1967. Includes a logo in the bottom corner and the handle @civilrightsorg.

Adam Abdullah has no criminal record. ICE arrested him in December, and he’s being held at Guantanamo Bay — a complete evasion of due process. We support @aclu.org in demanding courts end the detention of immigrants beyond U.S. jurisdiction and end this absurd cruelty. bit.ly/4xzWH5e

A reminder on International Equal Pay Day: The gender pay gap persists, yet the EEOC collects no pay data to track it — and now it's moving to end even the EEO-1 demographic reports it's gathered since 1966. Less data = less accountability. We demand transparency.

Lianyong Wei is one of at least 26 reported deaths in ICE detention this year — likely an undercount. In June, DHS eliminated the requirement to report deaths within 30 days of release, so people who die shortly after they get out aren't counted. n.pr/4yyy9KT
