It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting. Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

There’s a huge social media push to get people to stop voting. There’s a reason that right was so hard fought. It does matter, even when both candidates are less than ideal. Overwhelming at the polls shows the people are paying attention and slows the progress of corruption.

The most uncomfortable things I’ve seen so far at my new gym is the guy running in jeans and a baseball cap or the guy on the stairs in the long sleeve button down shirt. Confusing choices but to each their own. Beats the creeps at my old gym.

Most of the community notes needed on IG right now are about the massive number of lying AI posts and scams being spammed. The rest are people asking for notes on things they could and should easily look up for themselves. It’s bleak.

This is why I hate "just a tool" so so so much. You can make a calculator without access to every calculation. You can make photoshop without access to all photos. Someone show me a genai tool that didn't require all of our labour in its production. It's plagiarism software.

Modified another PLG bag to my liking by making it crossbody instead of a shoulder carry. Need a few more tools to do hand sewing on leather myself. Then I’m going to learn about shaping it too.

Did my first modification on a Portland Leather bag. Added an internal strap so I can wear it crossbody and adjusted the shape into something I like better as it helps keep the big bag a bit more closed. Playing with leather is fun.

It’s so frustrating going to so many doctors and still not finding any answers. The tests come back fine, but I’m still sick. And the doctors just shrug. And then I have to find out where to go next hoping someone else might be able to help. Today is hard.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula was heavily influenced by Sheridan Le Fanu’s Carmilla and his short story The Judge is very reminiscent of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven. While he’s not a plagiarist, I can’t read his work without feeling like I’m reading someone else’s story embedded in it.
