Cold weather safety starts with preparation—check out the 5 tips below to keep your little ones warm and safe. #ColdWeather #WinterWeatherSafety #CHildrensHealth #PublicHealth
Cold Safety for Kids

Bundle kids in warm layers – Hats, gloves, scarves, and waterproof outerwear help protect against frostbite and hypothermia.

Limit outdoor time in extreme cold – Take frequent warm-up breaks indoors.

Keep children dry – Wet clothes increase heat loss and raise the risk of cold-related illness.

Watch for frostbite signs – Numbness, pale skin, and tingling are early warning signs.

Check school and childcare policies – Follow weather advisories and closure guidance during winter storms.
